Mochi Squishy: 8 Sets Compared, Ranked and Explained
Eight mochi squishy sets, from a mini 18-piece pack to a 120-piece haul. We compared what each one actually gives you, and which one suits which job.
By Hannah Doyle · · 11 min read
A mochi squishy is a small, soft squeeze toy, usually a tiny animal or fruit with a smooth, rubbery finish. They come in packs, and the packs vary wildly: 18 pieces or 120, in a box or in a bag, themed or random.
We tested eight sets with the same questions in mind. How many pieces, how are they packed, what shapes, what do the listings say about cleaning and age? Below you will find the ranking, a choice table, a use-by-use guide and the safety checks worth doing before anything goes in a party bag.

Forty different pieces in individual opaque bags, with a handled box. Built for handing out.
We tested each set as a buyer would: opened the pack, looked at the pieces, squeezed, stretched and checked the packaging against the listing. Where a figure comes from the seller, such as a size or piece count, we call it announced.
We did not run lab tests and we do not claim any. What we can tell you is what we handled, what the listing says, and where the two lined up.
The criteria we used
Pack size and how many different designs you get
Whether pieces are individually wrapped
Storage: box, handle or loose bag
Announced size of each piece
Cleaning advice given by the seller
Fit for the job: party bags, classroom, gifting or a personal collection
What we did not rank on
We left price out of the ranking on purpose. A bigger pack is not automatically better, so we judged each set on how well it does its own job.
Every set here is a small, soft toy with a seller-stated age guide. Read the age on the pack before you hand anything over, and keep them away from under-3s.
The 8 sets at a glance
Here is the ranking, with a label for each set. The order reflects how well each one delivers on its own promise, based on what we handled and what the listing states.

Our ranking, set by set
BONNYCO: 40 different mochi squishy toys
The standout for handing out. Forty pieces, announced as all different, each in an opaque bag so nobody sees what they are getting. It arrives in a box with a handle, which doubles as storage afterwards.
The listing mentions a pleasant smell. We would still sniff any new squishy before use and put it aside if it smells chemical.
JOYIN: 25 pieces with a box
A neat middle size. The storage box is the draw here, so the set stays together rather than ending up loose in a drawer. The listing describes soft, durable rubber and says the pieces are not for consumption.
LIKYMO: 100 pieces, storage box included
A big set where each piece is individually wrapped and a spacious box is included. The listing says every design is unique. Handy if you run a classroom prize tin or several parties a year.
JUAUO: 32 pieces, three themes
Fourteen animals, ten dinosaurs and eight fruits, as announced. It suits a mixed group, since there is something for most tastes. The listing advises washing with mild detergent when dirty.
SINZUX, ENTHUR and DTYDECLE: the mini animal packs
Three similar zoo-and-jungle sets. SINZUX gives 21 designs, ENTHUR and DTYDECLE give 18 each, with pieces individually wrapped. They are small enough for egg hunts and pockets: ENTHUR announces 1.2 to 2.4 inches per piece.
If you want the most pieces for a crowd, Albiuev offers 120 random ones, with a mix of regular, dinosaur, sea animal, fruit and unicorn themes.
Want a box: JOYIN or LIKYMO
Want no duplicates: BONNYCO
Want a crowd pack: Albiuev
Want themed variety: JUAUO
Choosing a mochi squishy set: the decision table
Match the set to the job before you look at anything else. A pack that is perfect for a class of thirty is overkill for one birthday.

100 and above: classroom prize tin or repeat events
If a set is rather more about stress relief and sensory play for you, our guide to anti stress squishy picks covers that angle. For cuter shapes, see kawaii squishies.
By use: where each mochi squishy set fits
Party bag fillers
Individually wrapped pieces win here. BONNYCO is built for it, with opaque bags and no duplicates. LIKYMO and Albiuev do the same job at scale.
Classroom prizes and rewards
Go big and keep a box handy. A set with a storage box keeps prizes tidy between lessons. Check your school's policy on toys first.
Gifts
A box helps. JOYIN and LIKYMO come with one, and BONNYCO's box has a handle. Our squishy gift ideas page has more thoughts on who to give what.
Collecting and swapping
Variety counts. JUAUO's three themes and SINZUX's 21 designs give you something to sort and trade. See popular squishies for what else people collect.
Wrapped and opaque: party bags
Large and boxed: schools and clubs
Boxed and neat: gifting
Themed and varied: collectors
Common mistakes when buying mochi squishy sets
Buying on piece count alone. A huge pack of random designs may be fine for a classroom and wrong for a gift.
Skipping the age on the pack. Sellers state an age range and some listings flag choking risk or adult-only use. Read it.
Ignoring the smell. A strong chemical or petrol-like smell is a reason to stop, not to air it out and carry on.
Hunting for the fastest delivery over the right pack. Check what is actually in the set before it goes in a bag.
Handing small pieces to toddlers. Small, soft pieces and under-3s do not mix.
Assuming one listing's claims apply to another. Each seller's wording is their own, so read each one.
If you want squishies of a different type, such as slow-rising ones, our slow rising squishies page covers them separately.
Cleaning and storing your mochi squishy toys
The listings for these sets agree on the basics. Wash with mild soap or detergent and water, let them dry, and if they feel tacky afterwards, dust lightly with baby powder. Several sellers say this restores the smooth feel.
Rinse the piece in lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap.
Rinse off the soap and pat dry.
Air dry fully before storing.
If it feels sticky, add a very light dusting of baby powder.
Use the included box if the set has one (JOYIN, LIKYMO, BONNYCO)
Keep pieces away from radiators and hot cars
Check pieces now and then and bin any that crack or tear
Never heat a squishy, whether in a microwave, on a radiator or in a hot car. And do not cut or open one.
Age guidance and markings: the safety check
This is a sensitive area, so here are the facts we can stand behind, with sources. Safety is about the individual product, not the category as a whole.
The OPSS (the UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards) published a report on 10 August 2026 about a different product, a liquid-filled Squishy Dumpling Bun Squeeze Toy. It found microbiological levels above the accepted limit and no UKCA or CE marking, and it was refused at the border and destroyed.
Consumer organisations in Germany noted on 7 October 2026 that not all squishies are dangerous and that risks vary by product.
Authorities in several European countries have raised alerts about heating squishies and about chemical odours in some products. Testing is ongoing in several countries.
In the UK, toys should carry a UKCA or CE mark.
What to do before you buy or hand out
Check the age on the pack and keep squishies away from under-3s
Look for a UKCA or CE mark and the maker or importer's details
Sniff it: a chemical or petrol smell means stop
Bin any piece that is cracked, torn or leaking
Never heat a squishy
Our pages are squishies safe, are squishies toxic and squishy recall go into the detail. If you have a concern about a product, contact Trading Standards or the manufacturer.
We make no health claims. If someone has a skin reaction, see a doctor. If a squishy leaks, avoid contact with the contents.
Frequently asked questions
What is a mochi squishy?
It is a small, soft squeeze toy, often shaped like an animal or a piece of fruit, named after the soft look of Japanese mochi. Our what is a squishy guide explains the wider family. The sets here are sold as packs of small pieces.
Which mochi squishy set is best for party bags?
BONNYCO is the one built for it: 40 different pieces in individual opaque bags, with a box that has a handle. LIKYMO and Albiuev suit bigger groups. Whatever you pick, check the age on the pack.
Are the pieces washable?
The sellers of these sets say to wash with mild soap or detergent and water, then air dry. Some add that a light dusting of baby powder helps if pieces feel sticky. Follow the instructions on your own pack.
Can I put a squishy in the microwave or on a radiator?
No. Authorities such as the DGCCRF in France and German consumer groups warn against heating squishies, citing burns and bursting. Never heat, cut or open one.
How do I check a set is okay to buy?
Read the age on the pack, look for a UKCA or CE mark, and find the maker or importer's details. Then smell the toys when they arrive. A chemical odour means you should stop using them. Marks are not a guarantee, so keep checking.
Are mochi squishies suitable for toddlers?
Consumer groups advise against squishies for children under 3 because of choking and ingestion risks. Follow the age printed on your pack, and supervise anyone younger than that.
What size are these mochi squishies?
They are small. ENTHUR announces 1.2 to 2.4 inches per piece, and Albiuev lists 1.2 to 2.5 inches. Dimensions in listings can describe packaging rather than the toy, so treat them as a guide.
